What I’ve learned and what’s next

Back again! Well, here’s an update on my MAIP journey this summer!
As a refresher, I’m Victoria, A recent grad from the University of Central Florida, a 2-time MAIP fellow, and I’m a copywriting intern at Dentsu Creative.
I was assigned to the FTX account at the start of my internship and I’m now also working on the IMAX and Diageo accounts.
Things have gone from super slow to having a jammed-pack schedule filled with multiple projects. Time management and a list of priority to-dos have been my saving grace.
Working the IMAX accounts has definitely been more of a watching and listening experience. Seeing how the creative team comes together to create big, unique, and trendsetting ideas have been so cool and inspiring. It’s made me think of my own process as a creative and copywriter and how I can add new tips and tricks to keep the wheels in my head turning to new ideas.
Being the lead alongside my art direction partner for the Diageo account has been a new experience and it’s super exciting to head on a project with the support of another copywriter and designer.
What’s next…
Well, that’s a great question! I know I want to stay in the advertising industry. I think I want to focus more on print ads, and maybe try something along the lines of brand voice. I’m also curious about strategy, whether it be creative or brand focused. I also want to learn more about SEO and paid social.
I’m looking forward to finding a junior copywriter role and continuing to grow!
